Charlie Purdue of AFD more than made up for her disapointment in not getting to the Olympics in the summer, by being the first British Women, breaking her own personal best and becoming the 3rd fastest British Women in a time 2hours 23minutes and 26seconds. Hugh Congratulations to Charlie
AFD are sad to learn of the death of Barabara our first Olympian (1968 and 1972). She passed away on Friday the 3rd September. There is a short articule under Club History, Life Members.
What was an outstanding weekend for AFD athletes started on Saturday 17th July with Masie Grice winning the English Championship Women’s Steeple Chase in a time of 10 min 15.21 seconds.
