Will Barnicoat led the British runners to the gold medals in the under-20 men’s event at the European Cross Country Championships in Dublin on Sunday. The Aldershot Farnham & District athlete placed ninth as his team beat the host nation by one point. Club mate Jack Rowe was the first Briton home in the senior men’s contest where his side came sixth. Although not one of the three counters for GB’s u20 women, Alice Garner received a bronze medal along with the rest of the squad.
The final AFD athlete to compete in Dublin was Harvey Dixon who lead the Gibralter team .
Looking to the future AFD have been selected to represent the UK in the European Champion Clubs Cup Cross Country Champoinships at Oeiras Portugal on the 6th February. Afd teams will run in the Womens race and the mixed relay.
