A small team of seven AFD athletes braved the M25 traffic and the Hillingdon Sports Centre parking fees to compete for the club in the Alder Valley match on Sunday 5th of June.
Archie Ellis (U17) was up first in the 400m hurdles, his first attempt at the event, which he won in a time of 63.9.
Marcus Hibbins (U15) went next in the 800m, a superb win in a personal best time of 2:15.0.
Multi-Eventer Oliver Densley (U13) threw the Javelin 18m 37 (new event for Oli), the Shot 6m 32 and ran the 75mHurdles in a new personal best time of 16.0s.
Blas Rivero-Stevenet (U13) was up next, coming a narrow second in a hard fought 800m in a new personal best time of 2:23.3.
Charles Batchelor (U11) ran a really gutsy 600m, smashing his personal best by 5s, finishing in a time of 2:29.4.
Archie Ellis (U17) went again, this time in the 200m, finishing with a PB of 24.6.
Daniel Mobsby (U17) ran next in the 1500m. A very tough race, which he completed in a creditable time of 5:13.6.
The day was rounded off by Daniel Orbell (U13) with a fabulous victory in the 1200m. What a finishing kick! His time 3:45.6 was a new Club Record and ranks Daniel top 13 on the Powers of 10 rankings. Well done Daniel! The previous record was set by Blas Rivero-Stevenet at the first Alder Valley Match at Eton with a fine performance of 3:57.8.
A pleasure watching you all today lads
