Aldershot Farnham & District’s under-15 girl runners took three titles in the Surrey Track & Field Championships, held at Kingston over the weekend. Katie Pye beat all the u17 women in the 3000 metres. Lottie Quinn and Emmeline Orbell triumphed in the 1500 and 800 metres respectively. Kitty Scott won the u13 girls’ 1500 and Finlay Williams claimed gold in the u13 boys’ shot.
Meanwhile in Portsmouth Emily Lucas, the South of England u15s champion from last season, won the Hampshire u17s 200 metres. The following AFD athletes also took gold: Ryan Martin (u20 men 3000), Luca Hamblen (u17 men 1500), Dan Shattock (u17 men 3000), Ruby Horton (u20 women 3000), Annabelle Honey (u17 women 100) and Lisa Duke (u17 women triple jump). The walking events had been staged earlier in the month when Abigail Jennings (senior women), Lois Carty (u20 women) and Lola-Mae Billingham (u17 women) were gold medallists.
