As the track season comes to a close and the cross country season starts, a roundup of the final track results for August and September.

British Masters Championships Derby

1st-3rd September 2023

AFD had some excellent individual performances at the British Masters Championships held in Derby. AFD athletes picked up 1 gold, 3 silvers and 1 bronze medal. Two club records were also broken! In the 800m Hamish Maclean clocked 4:12.65 to take gold. Eni Font Friede picked up a silver in the 100m, running a swift 14.91sec to also break the W60 AFD club record. Whilst over in the W35 steeplechase, Karen Andrews took second place in 7:42.47 to set the 2000m steeplechase W35 AFD club record.

1500m – 1st – Hamish Maclean (M40) – 4:12.65

England Athletics U15 / U17 Championships Birmingham 26-27 Aug

Lola-Mae Billingham picked up a fantastic silver in the 3000m Walk at the England U15/U17 Championships. Full results below:-

Welsh Athletics International

Kate Pye was recently selected to represent England in the 1500m at the Welsh International and ran an excellent 4:29.68 to place second.

The South of England Championships held on 12-13 August at Lee Valley.  There were golds for both Chris Snook and Abigail Jennings in the Walks and 1 silver for Katie Pye in the 800m. Full AFD results below:-
