AFD athletes had warm sunny weather over County Championship weekend. Congratulations to all our medallists at the various County Championships around the country. AFD collected 12 gold medals, 12 silver and 5 bronze medals.
Surrey County Championships
Kingston

At the Surrey County Championships which were held in Kingston. Senior Men’s sprinter Luke Dorrell clocked blistering fast times to complete a sprint double in both the 100m and 200m taking gold and setting Championship Best Performances in both events. Over in the distance events Poppy Guest, Kitty Scott and Naomi Walmsley claimed 1st, 2nd and 3rd to sweep the podium in the U15 girls 1500m.

Over at the Hampshire County Championships, Kylin Simpson had a busy weekend collecting 4 medals (3 gold and 1 bronze) in the 200m, 70m hurdles, high jump and long jump. In the 70m hurdles Kylin went to the top of the UK U13 rankings clocking 11.59secs and broke AFD’s U13 club record which has stood since 1988.

In the Somerset County Championships Annabelle Honey completed a sprint double in the 100m and 200m collecting gold in 12.12secs and 25.02secs (PB).
