Chris Thompson booked his place in the UK Olympic team to compete in Tokyo betwen the 23 July and 8 August 2021.
Chris lined up for the UK marathon trial at Kew Gardens on the 26th March 2021. The selection policy was automatic selection to the first 2 runners if they achieved the qualifying time of 2h 11m 30sec. Chris was unchallened over the last 10km and won 2 hours 10 minutes 52 seconds 40 seconds inside the qualifying time. Chris was however 2 seconds ourside the AFD record set by Bernie Ford in 1979
Chris became a dad earlier in the week when Jemma gave birth to Theo. Cogratulations to Chris and family.
