Niamh Brown and Will Barnicoat win Inter Counties titles

Two runners from Aldershot Farnham & District became UK Inter Counties Cross Country champions at Loughborough on Saturday. Niamh Brown, competing for Surrey, defeated Cambridgeshire’s Julia Paternain, the English Schools 3000 metres gold medallist, by nine seconds in the under-20 women’s race and Will Barnicoat (also representing Surrey) triumphed in the u15 boys’ event where Mohamed Ali of Middlesex, who had beaten the AFD lad to the English National title last month, was relegated to fifth.
