European Masters Athletics Indoor Championships Success

European Masters Athletics Indoor Championships – Torun, Poland

 

Several AFD masters athletes travelled to Torun in Poland to compete in the European Masters Athletics Indoor Championships which took place between 26 March – 2 April 2026.

AFD race walker Susan Payne (W65) won two golds, the first came in the 3000m walk and the second in the 5K race walk. Susan also won a bronze in the 5K run. Allan Leiper (M65) who broke the British M65 Shot Put record a few weeks ago, won gold in the shot with a throw of 13.77m.

Eni Font Friede (W60) picked up two medals, a bronze in the 60m clocking a fast 9.08 secs and a silver in the 4x200m. Whilst distance runner Mark Symes (M55) claimed silver in the in the 1500m, clocking 4:18.22.
