On 26 August a group of 8 young AFD athletes took part in the European Kids Athletic Games in Brno Czech Republic.
This is a European competition featuring athletes between the ages of 11 and 15 competing in a number of events ranging from cricket ball throw for the younger athletes up to 1500m for the older athletes. All our athletes competed well several of them winning heats in the 60m, 150m and 300m. They all jumped well in the long jump and Scarlett Taylor missed out in competing in the 100m hurdles final by 1/100th of a second.
A good time was had by all and the athletes made friends with several young athletes from different countries. All the young athletes gained valuable experience competing at a high level competition.
