England Athletics Senior Championships

Five AFD athletes headed round the M25 at the weekend to compete in Chelmsford at the England Athletics Senior Championships.
In the 5000m walk, Abigail Jennings claimed a fantastic gold medal, whilst in the men’s event Chris Snook also secured a podium place picking up a bronze medal. Over in the sprints Luke Dorrell took gold in the men’s 200m, to continue his excellent season.
Also in action at the championships, Annabelle Honey placed 5th in the women’s 100m and Emily Moyes finish 11th in the 1500m.
SIAB Schools International
Grangemouth

The SIAB Schools U17 Track & Field International took place at the Grangemouth Sports Stadium, Falkirk, Scotland on 15 July 2023 with two AFD athletes securing three medals (1 gold and 2 bronze).
Emily Lucas and Lola-Mae Billingham were both selected to compete for England based on their performances at the recent English Schools Championships.
Competing in the 200m Emily Lucas placed third in 25.25secs claiming a bronze medal. Emily also secured a gold medal as part of England’s 4x100m team. Whilst Lola-Mae Billingham claimed bronze in the 3000m walk in a time of 16:53.22.
