Aldershot Farnham & District runner Pippa Roessler won the under-20 women’s race at the British Inter Counties Cross Country Championships near Loughborough on Saturday. She finished thirteen seconds clear after a duel with Hercules Wimbledon’s Ellen Weir, who was fourteenth at the European Championships in December, and the pair led Surrey to the team title.
Maya Jobbins beat AFD club mate Kitty Scott to the bronze medal in the u13 girls’ event as they formed the first half of the Surrey side that took team silver. Surrey won both senior team competitions. Niamh Brown led a sextet that also included Nancy Scott and Georgie Bruinvels while Sam Eglen was a member of the men’s team. Louise Small was first counter for Hampshire who were helped to the women’s bronze medals by Lauren Hall.
