Bexley League – Walks

First Bexley Winter league of 2014 saw the largest team of 
AFD race walkers competing for some years. In the 5km race Tim, 
moving into the u20 age group trying to shake off injury and 
illness problems started strong but dropped off the pace, 
as did Colin who also started well allowing for Chris to power 
through to a win in his debut u17 5km in a time of 25.41.  
The 2.5km was a very competitive distance where Abigail (u17) 
walked a fantastic race to achieve 15.34 in 3rd place, closely 
followed by Kathryn (u15) 16.33 in 4th both holding great form.
A great start to racing saw Katie (u15) finishing 5th in 16.40 
at her first road race and youngest lady u13 Emma walking with 
the best smile of the day finishing 7th in 17.49. Lone u11, 
Kenton won his race walking a very strong 9.55 in the 1.25km.
