England Under 23 and British Championship success for AFD’s race walkers
Congratulations to race walkers Chris Snook and Abi Jennings for winning Gold at the England under 23 Championships over 10,000 metres at Bedford Stadium on 20th June.
The week after at the British Athletics Championships in Manchester, Abi won a Silver and Chris narrowly missed out on a medal, finishing 4th in a strong men’s field over the 5,000 metre distance.
This follows both their impressive debuts over 20k at the Olympic trials in Kew Gardens earlier in the year.
AFD’s race walking coach, Verity Snook, also coaches Tonbridge AC and Welsh international, Guy Thomas who won bronze at the Olympic trials and British Championships.

At the same British Championship at Manchester Jack Rowe continued his fine for to come 3rd in the 5000 metre Olympic trial.
