Six runners from Aldershot Farnham & District claimed titles at the Hampshire Schools' championships on Saturday. In the home straight of the intermediate boys' 800 metres, Dan Howells proved stronger than Eastleigh & Winchester's James Jerram, who was a finalist in the junior event at last summer's English Schools, and in the last furlong of the junior girls' 1500 metres, Alice Garner took three seconds out of Gosport & Fareham's Nicole Ainsworth, a former National cross country champion. Robbie Coupland (senior boys' 3000), Grace Jacobs (senior girls' 100), Annabel Wright (senior girls' 400) and Hannah Jacobs (senior girls' 800) were also victorious for Aldershot Schools at Portsmouth.
Another gold medallist from the club at the weekend was Guy Tucker. He won the under-17 men's 3000 metres at the South of England championships. There were silver medals at Crystal Palace for Jack Boswell (u20 men's 5000) and Evie Grice (u20 women's 800) plus bronze medals for Ricky Harvie (senior men's 1500) and Dylan Spencer (u15 boys' 3000).
