Emelia Gorecka was second in the senior women's race at the Edinburgh cross country international on Saturday. The Aldershot Farnham & District runner split the pack that had been chasing Yasemin Can of Turkey and reached the finish two seconds after the Kenyan-born European champion. AFD club mate Katie Bingle closed the British team that placed second to Europe but ahead of the USA. GB won the junior women's event with a quartet that included AFD's Niamh Brown.
Five of the club's teams won their races in the latest round of the Hampshire League, also held on Saturday: senior men, under-17 men, u15 boys, u13 boys and u15 girls. Second claimer Abdulqani Sharif (senior men) and Rudi Morrell (u13 boys) led their sides with individual victories.
