Early season AFD T&F results

BUCS Championships – Bedford
29 April – 1 May 2017

AFD athletes were in fine form competing in Bedford in the University Outdoor Championships over Bank Holiday weekend. There were notable performances from Ellis Cross running a pb in the 5000m to take gold and Luke Dorrell clocking a speedy 10.72secs pb in his heat which is the fastest 100m time by an AFD athlete for many years:-

100m – Luke Dorrell 5th (Final) 10.98

800m – Evie Grice 6th (Semi-Final) 2:16.69
Megan Aitchison 3rd (Heat) 2:17.27

1500m – Megan Gildea 8th (Semi -Final) 4:48.74

5000m – Philippa Bowden 3rd (Final) 16:18.01
Rebecca Howard 10th (Final) 17:16.02

Southern Counties Vets League – Winchester

AFD’s masters mens and womens teams got off to a good start at Winchester in their first match of the season.

There were several excellent performances with wins from Dan Tomlinson in the B string 100m, Darren Dods in both the 400m and Long Jump, Allan Leiper in the Shot Putt, Sue Davies in the 2000m walk and Lourdes Camos with a pb in the triple jump. The ladies team also finished the evening off with a fantastic win in the 4x100m.
