Amy on a club visit
Amy Allcock took a bronze medal on the penultimate day of the European championships in Berlin, running the third leg for the British team in the 4×400 metres relay. The Aldershot Farnham & District athlete stayed in contention after the performances of Zoey Clark (Thames Valley Harriers) and Anyika Onuora (Liverpool Harriers), thus giving Eilidh Doyle (Pitreavie) the chance of honours on the anchor. Poland won the event from France while GB came home a few yards ahead of a Belgian quartet that set a national record.
Allcock was also a member of the side that claimed bronze at the World indoors in March. She is a former England Athletics under 23 champion over 200 metres and twice won the English Schools intermediate 300 metres title. Allcock came third in the British championships at the beginning of last month, earning selection for the individual 400 metres where she reached the semi finals last week.
