The National XC championships are next Saturday (25th) at Parliament Hill on Hampstead Heath.

This is the biggest club championship of the season. We’re expecting everyone entered to run if they can. Please let me know asap if you’re not running.
Attached a list of the timetable for the day, a map of the start/finish area and directions for getting to Parliament Hill.
How to get there
We’re not running a coach as it is easier by public transport or to drive. If you do have a problem getting there let me know.
One popular route is to drive to Richmond and catch the train to Gospel Oak (33min). At Gospel Oak, you turn left out of the station then almost immediately left into Parliament Hill. It’s very easy to find and there will be lots of other people to follow.
If you do drive, parking will obviously be much busier than when the Southern is held at Parliament Hill.
Arrival
When you arrive, please come to get your tag and number from the AFD camp. Please put them on as soon as you get them.
Everything takes longer at the big championships. You need to leave yourself enough time to find us, put your number on, walk the course and warm up. You’ll need at least an hour and a half before your race.
At the start
You need to be at the start 10 mins before your start time. There should be a warning gun or whistle 2 or 3 mins before your race starts. You will be asked to go through a tent to get to the start area. You can keep some kit on and pass it over the fence once you are in the start area.
There will hopefully be someone at the start to collect your kit. I’ll have a roll of dustbin bags. If parents are going to the start, please volunteer to collect everyone’s kit. The kit will be returned to the AFD camp for the athletes to collect when they’ve finished.
Club vests
Ron Hill club vests/crop tops must be worn. If anyone needs a new one please let me know so I can make sure I bring one with me.
